Living outside of London

After 9 years of commuting to a job in London from Liverpool I think I am going to have to take the plunge and move darn sarf.

Ideally though, we would like to move somewhere outside of London, and to a village with good rail links.

We are just beginning to look now, any suggestions of places to consider would be gratefully received.......
