Non-members getting tickets for a one off game

I have a mate who is looking to buy tickets for her fella as a Christmas present. Neither of them are members.

I know that some tickets do tend to end up on general sale, but does anyone have any idea of where to get one-off tickets that isn't a massive rip off and is not a dodgy as feck site? She is willing to pay above the odds, but would prefer to avoid the touting sites if possible.

The tickets boards on various forums is the best bet, people don't tout.
