That the league is there for the taking and we've lost to West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

We should be right up there. These players need to show some resolve. Even the experienced ones like Lucas, who's had a renaissance really let the fans down last week.

Drawing at home to Norwich was a sh*tter. And letting Southampton score with 3 mins left, when we had 3 points in our hands. All via a stupid unnecessary freekick too.

Everyone has been inconsistent up till now, if any of the teams near the top can sort that out in the second half of the season, then they have a fantastic chance, it's difficult but there's no reason why we can't push on from here.

That the league is there for the taking

Been like that for the best part of a decade and beyond. Aside from 2013-14 season, we've not been competitive in the league aside from when Rafa was here.

I have every confidence that Klopp will fix this. Don't currently have the quality in attacking areas within the squad to do it at the moment. We need to be patient as this is still Brendan's squad.

That said, top 4 is achieveable this season. We need to start stringing wins together, starting with today. Put a good run together and see where it takes us.

2013-14 was similar in that no team stood out until we started going on our run. Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal were all some way ahead of us at that point but started to throw points away with silly results and let us catch up. This season appears to be going the same way and provided we are still in touch with the leaders by the end of January, we could still be the dark horses in the race as we are likely to get stronger the longer Klopp is in charge.

I agree with this - let's assume Leicester won't last the pace, we are still close enough to be in the mix come the end of the season. I'd rather say it on the back of a couple of poor results for once instead of all the reactionary stuff. Like Jurgen says we can't always be too up and too down on the basis of the most recent result - we still have the same manager and players we had after we took apart Southampton.

This has been an appalling season with performances results injuries and then a manager change. The fact we are still in the running for top 4 is crazy. These last 3 games the the teams above us should've been out of sight.

We are lucky we still in with a shot and even the most pessimistic fan can see the green shoots of klopps revival.

If we mid Jan and still less than 6 points off top 3...

When you think of the mitigating factors, it isn't really frustrating at all. Leicester City are there because every week they've generally been better than the opposition, They also don't have the same pressures as the other perceived big teams in the league which I think is a massive factor. Everyone is expecting Vardy to stop scoring, everyone is expecting City to implode, and they are not and its all to do with confidence and mental toughness.

Make no mistake, mental strength has played a massive part in success over the past few years, perhaps more so than ever before. A case in point is when Ferguson left United, regardless or not what changed on the training pitch the simple fact is away sides just didn't have that demi-god presence they had to face each week.

we knew that this season was going to be a write off once Rodgers kept his job after the Stoke city debacle

Far too early to call this season a write off.

We're still in all cup competitions and aren't too far away from 4th spot and above.

The last 3 games have been a big reality check though.

That's right. That decision did enable us to get Klopp though. Great in the long term, crap in the short term.

Is this our worst season ever with regards to injuries....Flanno, Gomez, Dejan, Sakho, Skrts, Hendo, Milner , Allen, Phil, Stu, Benny, Ings ...all out for various time so far this season

I know we have had some injuries but how can the same team who played as they did against City and Chelsea, then pulverise Southampton, can play so poorly as in the last two away matches

To be fair, Klopp possibly knows as much about Watford and Newcastle as we all know about Ingolstadt and Darmstadt, which is the square root of f*** all in my case - others may know a bit more! Contrast the first meeting with Southampton against the second, I'm sure if we were to draw either nufc of wfc in the fa cup that he will be better prepared.
