Urban Legends and Mysteries -- True and False

I love reading about them. Some of the true ones are even more surprising than the false ones.

 

For instance, I'd heard a story years ago about John Peel being at the JFK assassination. I thought it was rubbish until a saw a documentary on the assassination the other day and I thought I saw him in the crowd of reporters. So I googled it. Lo and behold, he actually was there and had blagged his way into the press conference.

 

I don't recall if the Hitler in Liverpool story is true or not. Does anyone have anything on that?
