Scam?

Last week I got a call purporting to be from BT asking to speak to the wife. She doesn't have a BT account I do so I told them she has no account and was told " it says Mrs Tosh here". I suggested they were scamming me and they hung up

 

 

Today I got a call purporting to be from BT to "review my account and see how we can improve our service"... OK, says I...

"for security reasons, can you please confirm your postcode?"

"well, you called me, so you tell me my postcode"

"if you tell me your postcode we can go through your account"

"if you tell me my postcode, I will have some comfort that you are who you say you are"

"I don't know who you are, you could be a burglar"

"Ignoring the fact that most burglars won't answer the phone, you called me so how do I know you're not scamming me"

It makes a change from the "calling from tech support about your computer", and perhaps it was a genuine call (sorry Mr call-centre chap doing your job) and BT are completely scalping me but want to help. But I have a feeling it's scam.
