I got in that game with a jarg ticket I paid a tenner for. Was nearly in tears at half time like

I got mine taken off me by a copper. I ended up watching the first half in the bookie's and managed to get in the ground before the 3rd goal.

If goal line tech was around today who do you reckon the first goal would have been given to for us... Rush or Johnston.. I've long thought Craig nicked that one..

I had mine nicked out of my hand at the turnstile by a scal.

Some fella saw it happen and offered me a replacement at face value - I thought it must have been a fake but it was quarter to three and I didn't have much choice. Seems it was legit.

for some reason singing Simon & Garfunkel with everything that was left of our voices on the way out of the ground - "slow down you move too fast, got to make the moment last etc"

"the Zimbabwean goalkeeper reaches a level of anger so intense that the turf underneath his boots begins to smoulder." Lovely stuff.

I was nine at the time, bit young to go. I remember loads of the BBC coverage, videoed it and watched it back over and over again. 'Grobbelaar and Beglin at sixes and sevens'.

Halcyon days for commentary. No Sky version of Tyler, no Lawrenson. No persistent attempts to start the news cycle with some controversial comment. Vocal journalism, not hacks with mics.

I slept in a shed in a school at Wembley the night before. Pole vault and high jump beds are quite comfy. The lads from the local boozer pointed us in that direction and we were too drunk to even think it may be dangerous.

I was 7, I was there.
