Clyne - they got no joy down his side

Gomez - first game and difficult opponent

Milner - first game and slotted in well

wanted to give it to Coutinho but he was average before the goal

Lots of 7/10's yesterday so Coutinho is getting it for the goal. After that, not much to distinguish a lot of the others - though the greater degree of credit goes to the defenders and keeper for the clean sheet. Lovren played well and Skrtel made a good block towards the end whilst Mignolet's save from Adam's free kick was very good.

Coutinho

Lovren

Skrtel

Coutinho (some people haven't even got him in their top 3 - what's wrong with you?)

Skrtel

Milner

Gomez did well but there were a couple of mistakes that could have been costly.

Lovren did well but could have been sent off.

Coutinho - got the goal

Clyne - crucial clearing header with two lads coming onto it and the game in the balance

Can - because only players whose first initial is C get picked, and his presence in the middle pushed everyone else forward. Neither Henderson or Milner got beyond the attack till Can came on

Coutinho (wasn't his best overall game, but he single handedly won us two points)

Milner (fantastic work rate and some really good runs forward)

Clyne (very accomplished all round, great last ditch header to possibly save a goal)

Any of the other lads across the back four did well and could have got that last spot, but felt Clyne just edged it.

Henderson - put in a good shift at both ends, made a couple of crucial blocks, never stopped running and provided an attacking thrust in the second half.

Coutinho - it wasnt happening for him for periods of the game, but he was still our main creative force in trying to make things happen & of course, the matchwinner

Lovren - solid throughout, put his head in at times and showed authority we havent seen much of previously. Didnt do much wrong & dealt with what he needed to.
