Just wondering what the Jules Rimet trophy is doing in this photo? Was Bob part of the 1966 backroom staff? Or does it belong to Roger Hunt?

FIFA present mini Jules Rimet trophies to clubs for example hosting World Cup matches and also to individuals for outstanding achievements.

 

It was probably used for the 5 a side comps

Loved that man. Almost as much as Shanks. He was such a nice bloke and there was never any drama around him.

Bob is/was the man for me.

 

Too young for Shanks's era but Bob always appeared to be a nice old fella that somehow managed to be the greatest coach in Europe in between enjoying a nice cup of tea and a chat.

Ironically I can't recall whether I've posted this before but my great aunt suffered from dementia and lived with her daughter's family (my cousin). She was a tremendous strain and they needed a break so my aunt went into the Bob Paisley Respite Suite in a hospital in Liverpool (not sure which one)  Bob's widow had something to do with it's creation, apparently poor old Bob who had so many highs in his life couldn't remember any of it when he died.

He got recognition from the people who matter, not the british state (which can f*ck off of course)

A cruel condition, my grandad-in law suffered it and literally disappeared before the family's eyes. The saving grace was that he was mostly happy before he finally passed. Hope the same was true for Bob.
