We have just cleared out my wife's aunt's house (she's now in a home with dementia and her husband died about ten years back). We are sorting through the family photos etc, that we have found and there is a load from what looks like her husband's WW2 service in Malawi (and possibly one or two other places. They're quite fascinating because they show a lot of diferent aspects of the military life in an area which, I presume, was not seeing front line action. There are photos of supply loads, sporting activities, the camps (tents and main buildings). loads of the local indigenous soldiers, even one showing the army mobile cinema. We are planning to just bin them as they have no value or interest to us beyond knowing it's "uncle John in the war". But I wondered if you knew if there might be any interest in these from, say, the Imperial War Museum or the regimental archive (if the regiment still exists).
