Suggestions for 2 month stay near(ish) the cIty centre?

Right, out-of-towner seeking advice

 

My other half just got a contract to work in the Royal Liver building for a couple of months.

Anyone got any suggestions as to places she can rent nearby(ish) for that long that won't cost an arm and a leg?

She wants somewhere she can cook for herself, but most flats won't rent for such a short time - and she doesn't fancy a houseshare full of students!

 

Any ideas?
