Computer recommendation needed please! (for photo/video editing)

I know it's a question with a lot of answers, but I also know there are some computer geniuses on here so thought I'd ask.

80% of the time I spend on my computer is in Adobe Photoshop or Premiere Pro, 20% on the web. Don't do any gaming at all, but I imagine a good graphics card is good for the photo/video editing?

My current system is keeping up pretty well - I got it in 2009 but have upgraded it along the way - as of last year the RAM, graphics card, USB ports, power supply were all upgraded. It's got the original i7 processor which is still pretty quick, but the motherboard dates back to '09 and I think it's pretty maxed out now. During any heavy editing periods, and sometimes even just watching YouTube, the fan blows non-stop.

I've been looking at the Alienware Area 51 setups, but that's probably overkill. It's probably hard to get any direct recs from the UK, since model numbers may be different over here, but any suggestions/advice is much appreciated.
