cymrococh Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 An alien plummets to earth and lands inside a football stadium just before kick-off. He knows it is either Cardiff City Stadium or the Liberty but he does not know which one. He is football mad and is well versed in the history and traditions of British football but being an alien he has never seen a game or any pictures of stadiums. The stands are packed so he cannot see the colours of the seats or any signage – even if he could he is colour blind and he cannot read. By looking around the pitch and the stadium there is still one way that he can determine whether he is in Swansea or Cardiff. How does he do it??
Cobs Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 the corner sections of the two grounds are completely different
cymrococh Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 he has never seen a game or any pictures of stadiums
Stevie H Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 he has never seen a game or any pictures of stadiums so how does he know it's either cardiff or the liberty?not to mention that if he is colour blind and cannot read he's a pretty sh*t alien so how did he manage to travel halfway across the known universe?
yellow jumper Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 is it something to do with the corner flags?
cymrococh Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 is it something to do with the corner flags?yes
Gilps Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Have to say, this all sounds even more unlikely than one of Vic's philosophical maths conundrums.
yellow jumper Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 fa cup winners (presumably cardiff) have different corner flags (triangular rather than square)?

New York Red Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Before last season you would be 100% correct. But there is now a second deck on the Ninian Stand on the Sloper Road side. He might not be able to see the seats, but he would see the extra block of fans sitting above. Liberty doesn't have that.

Cobs Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 perhaps he'd hear the packed stands of fans shouting/singing for Cardiff or Swansea before he noted the corner flags?
cymrococh Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 perhaps he'd hear the packed stands of fans shouting/singing for Cardiff or Swansea before he noted the corner flags? He doesn't speak/understand our earth languages.
Cobs Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 you're making this up as you go along! How can he understand if he is in Cardiff or Swansea when he doesn't understand the words Cardiff or Swansea?
D.Boon Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) How is he so well versed in football if he cant read? Edited February 26, 2015 by D.Boon
