RP Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) Specifically caricaturists around in the 1940s. Bit obscure, but someone may have a clue about the principle to follow ... I have come across and old (1940s) caricature drawn of a now-deceased family friend who worked in the film industry in the 1930s/1940s. I've no idea who drew it - given some of the connections my great uncle (or whatever he was) had, I'd like to find out before I list it on eBay, just in case it's worth a few quid! Anyway, it's signed in the bottom corner - seems to be initials, maybe 'HWI' or 'HWT', 'HUT' maybe, in the shape of a house (or a hut, I guess!!) ... with a possible 'SON' added (as smoke coming out of the chimney - although it may just be a squiggle). Obviously no-one will know who it is from tha description but if someone on here actually helps me track down who the artist is, I'll donate an additional 10% of the sale price to charity (I'm already donating 10%) ... or a minimum £10. Just point me to a resoiurce that may ba able to help ... and that'll be your good charitable deed done for today! Thanks all. My expectations are set appropriately low on this one ... I expect no sensible, helpful responses whatsoever, but if you don't ask you'll never know! Edited February 22, 2015 by RP
