Iraq get the all important win, almost head to head for second place with Japan and Palestine the other teams in the group

Poor Ray wilkins, still winless as manager of Jordan

Good wins for Oz yesterday beating Oman 4-0 (peaking too early perhaps?) , and S Korea scrapes a win against Kuwait, a bit lucky in the end

Saudi thrashes N Korea 4-1 today in the human rights abuse derby, and now need a draw against the Uzbek who lost 2-1 to China

Iran and the UAE have qualified from group C after beating qatar (1-0) and Bahrain (2-1) respectively

Can see dark horses UAE going along way in this one, if they can avoid losing to Iran in the final match of the group and avoid Japan in the second round , they play the nicest football

Iran, under the stewardship of renowned philander Carlos Quiroz, look very solid, the highest ranking asain team will be difficult to beat

South korea beat Oz 1-0 today to claim top spot in group A

In the other game Oman beat Kuwait 1-0

Good match tomorrow morning between Uzbekistan and saudi to decide who goes through with china

Im happy doing it on my own

It's been a good tournament so far, much better than the tedious ACN

So Uzbekistan beat Saudi 3-1 yesterday to qualify with china who beat N korea 2-1

Iran beat UAE with an injury time goal 1-0 yesterday to ensure that they avoid Japan in the second round

Qatar got the wooden spoon losing 2-1 to Bahrain

in today's games, Iraq are beating Palestine 1-0 (prospect of a tasty second round derby against Iran) and Japan are beating Jordan 1-0

my mate went to the Japan v Jordan match, a bargain at Aus$15.00. Said Kagawa and Honda were excellent.

think it's a 6:30 am start on friday, so I'll have to invent a reason to be late, friday traffic can be a nightmare :pinocchio:

Iran (the tournament highest ranked team) are the clear favourite though, still under Quiroz and they look very difficult to score against, not conceded a goal yet

Hmm, looks like he's trialled with Man City and had a deal break down because of work permit issues. That's a shame. He looks really talented.

Is Ali Mabkhout any good?

No idea tbh, but he seems to have a really good record
