Remembering the good in 2014

Make no mistake, bar Istanbul and probably FA Cup 2001 this was the best year I've had supporting Liverpool. Because for a few short sweet few months, we where champions elect.

The stars aligned, the last time Liverpool won the league I was in the womb, and with my son in the womb as well, I thought it was fate.

The nervousness, going into work, the nervousness going the game, the feeling in the stomach and 'watch us go' as the wins kept on coming. Going on the ale and singing "We're going to win the league". Following the coaches in before the game, I can still smell the pyro, the ale and feel the gentle spring wind.

I remember the Kop in full voice, like its never been before. I remember going the game and laughing at the goals we scored.

Apologies for the rambling above, but I really did enjoy watching Liverpool, that feeling still hasn't left me, I still smile when I think of Liverpool, I smile when I think of that feeling, that feeling I really f***ing miss.

In summary, don't sack Rodgers, 2014 was alright.

In a way being so close to winning it and seeing what has happened since makes me want to cry. Back in April I was happy just to see us up there as it was unexpected. Looking back now and seeing how close we came hurts..........a lot.

Important to differentiate between feel good factor in isolation when playing well and winning and the same feeling as a result of winning trophies.

That's not meant to be flippant.

Hopefully next year Brendan will prove doubters like me wrong.
