I've been thinking about getting a lot of my vinyl & CDs onto some form of storage to be able to beam around the house, ideally to multi-room wireless speakers. But the basic problem I have is where and how to store the music files. I would assume that if I want to have them stored on a local server I'd need to have it hooked up to a laptop or something that is switched on 24/7 to have the music on tap. Cloud storage sounds more practical but may end up being very expensive in the long term with the amount of stuff I would want to store. The idea of just storing everything in a single device (like a Brennan) is a bit of a non-starter as there are very few which have the necessary storage capability and when they do they are massively expensive.

And then there is the question of which streaming devise to use - Sonos looks great in principle but again is stupidly expensive...
