This is a bit mad - a friend mentioned he saw a documentary called Requiem for Detroit - showing how the city went bankrupt and the massive impact its had. I did some googling and found this link:

Whole neighbourhoods abandoned being slowly but surely reclaimed by nature.

 

Its like something out of a disaster movie.
