Could go either way. West Brom are in a bit of form.

 

I'd seriously consider resting Sterling who looks like he's feeling a bit of pressure. Lallana comes straight back as does Moreno.

 

Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Lallana, Sturridge, Balotelli.

 

Don't think Allen is fit. Realise Sturridge might be pushing it as a starter.

3 points paramount but I think we'd all dearly love to see a convincing, committed and confident performance. The players and management need to respond, this is a slump

Sterling may be off his game a little but I don't see how we can afford to rest him. He is our most dangerous player with Sturridge out.

 

He needs to be played on the hole to get the best out of him, that means going with two up top and diamond in midfield.

I wouldn't think of dropping sterling at the moment. I do worry that we are going to overplay him but not enough players look like getting in positions to score goals. Until we see lallana and Coutinho looking like a goal threat, we must have sterling.

Useless trivia alert - this is our first Saturday 3pm kick-off since the 6-3 win at Cardiff in March

 

 

was gonna say, its been a while since we had one. when was our last home one?

 

Anyway, play Sterling, leaving him out is pointless as the only people to benefit will be Hodgson and England.

 

But i'd play Gerrard where Coutinho has been playimg, so Balo up on his own, Gerrard in behind, Lallana and Sterling wide. Henderson and Lucas or Rossiter holding. Sturridge on the bench but wouldnt play him at all unless we are in dire straits. Markovic in the hut too.

Anyone have approx odds? Basel was a nice little earner...

West Brom around 7-1 on Betfair. 4-1 the Draw. We're 85/40 on.

Remarkably our last home premier league match with 3pm kick off was on 7 December 2013 - 10 months ago

we need to go back to the diamond with or without sturridge

 

sterling needs to play behind 2 strikers to get the best out of him

 

markovic and sterling dont deserve to start games on current form
