Hope he makes a full recovery - Pardew claims aside, I can't imagine that these payers don't have some sort of health insurance, either via their employers or, given the number of advisors they seem to have (and the amount of money), they buy themselves. Paying for his own treatment seems a little odd unless BUPA (or whoever) said we'll pay for your treatment but only in the UK, not in Argentina.

Horrible way to be treated if true. I doubt 'Go away' was literally what Pardew said, but it's obviously how it made Gutierrez feel.

It's obviously a horrible thing for him but I don't see why Newcastle should be paying for his treatment.

 

The manner in which they treated him when they found out his diagnosis does sound despicable though.

It does sound like Pardew told him to go away last winter-way before he was diagnosed hence going on loan to Norwich-so headline is misleading

 

the lack of support since diagnosis seems pretty terrible though-compare that to the way Villa helped Petrov
