Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Well, when he came over anyway thats what he was called. Interview with him on the official site and he was asked about his partnership with Lovren. He was taking English lessons when he came over according to early interviews, seems he may not be entirely comfortable with the language if he is talking French with Lovren on the pitch. Makes you wonder about "It went well, we understood each other and I had the luck that he speaks some French as this helped me too."
Kite Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 hopefully that partnership is going to grow into something great, both are strong mobile players capable of dominating space, but not being able to speak fluently to each other obviously will throw up misunderstandings and mistakes a while.
Cheesecake Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 'some French' - doesn't mean that's how they communicate on the pitch all the time, also unlikely to be Rodgers preferred option with two Spanish youngsters alongside them.
Maldini Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 He played in France for two and a half years, I'd say he has more than a bit of French.
Benzo-13 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 He played in France for two and a half years, I'd say he has more than a bit of French.Exactly.

Of course it's not, but you use what you have when the game is on. Fecks sake.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Killer? Plays more like fluffy rabbit half of the time
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Topic Descriptions don't show up on my device. It can make these discussions hard to follow.
uppsala Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Not very attacking minded is he. He's a genius at passing it 10 yards to his left or right though. Can't fault him on that score.
Bailo Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Not very attacking minded is he. He's a genius at passing it 10 yards to his left or right though. Can't fault him on that score.Bizarre this.
madaboutlfc Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 He's clueless about weight of passing. Our defense is gash
Maldini Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Can't understand how someone could watch that game and single out Sakho for criticism.
Bailo Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 He's clueless about weight of passing. Our defense is gashNonsense. Actually gives the attacking player something to turn on. Rather that than Skrtel/Lovrens ball which immediately has to come back as they've been closed down.
lfc003 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Can't understand how someone could watch that game and single out Sakho for criticism. He gave away a needless corner for the goal.
Redmen Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Can't understand how someone could watch that game and single out Sakho for criticism. Cant see how you could have watched the game and still think he can defend,,,,,
lawrie Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Cant see how you could have watched the game and still think he can defend,,,,,looked solid enough to me except for giving a corner away cheaply
Redmen Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 looked solid enough to me except for giving a corner away cheaply Exactly!!
Cheesecake Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Let's hope he learns from it and ups his game like Moreno has recently.
Lark Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 some of his passing is dreadful. He gave the ball away needlessly several times v spurs. Luckily we weren't punished for those mistakes. He gave away a needless corner v Villa and we were punished. I dont know which centre half pairing is worse - sakho and lovren or skrtel and lovren.

kop205 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Let's hope he learns from it and ups his game like Moreno has recently. There is nothing other than 'recently' for Moreno. He has played three games for us. Weird comment. I'd take his passing over Lovrens today. Lovrens passing was awful. Floaty, aimless 40 yard balls. It is bad enough when Gerrard ends up doing it in some matches without someone else doing it as well.

It is bad enough when Gerrard ends up doing it in some matches without someone else doing it as well. The most bizarre thing about that is Lovren's allowed to hit a long one but Mignolet isn't! We were in injury time and the fella was still rolling it out to Sakho.

It is bad enough when Gerrard ends up doing it in some matches without someone else doing it as well.At least he was taking responsibility for trying to make something happen. (Hyypia used to get stick for the same.)
Kahnee Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 He gave away a needless corner for the goal. Wasn't the only needless corner we gave away, just happens they scored from that one
New York Red Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Not that it necessarily affects his play, but he seems to be very ungainly when he runs. Very flat footed and feet at ten-to-two.
