Why would it bring him closer? Do you get an official residence next door to the captains house with the job? A house not quite as good as the captain's but loads better than Colin Pascoe's?

Often it's a kind of political thing this, keeping someone sweet, but I'd like to see Henderson getting it given I think he has the attitude to be a captain and will hopefully be here for a number of years yet
