Fantasy Football 2014/15 - the auction one

Split out from the other fantasy football thread so as to avoid confusing the two (or more) games going on simultaneously.

 

To recap ... 8 players, all paid.

 

First auction is now live, closes at 8pm BST tomorrow, Wednesday 13th Aug.

 

Intention is then to have a second auction closing at 8pm BST Thursday 14th Aug, and then the third at 8pm BST Friday 15th Aug. If anyone has not got a full squad by that point, I'll make sure there are a couple more on Friday evening and maybe even one closing on Saturday morning if required.

 

There is a maximum initial budget of £120mil, 16 players in a squad, max 3 from any one team.

 

Please submit your bids ...

 

Separate thing for the 8 Managers to consider ... is there any interest in contributing to a prize fund? For example, £10 in, League winner gets £50, 2nd place £30 (meaning if you come second you have had all your costs covered - league entry fee plus this £10)??

 

Thoughts? Happy to do whatever the majority want to go with - £10 in, winner takes all?? Let me know your thoughts.

no problem with a bit of prize money for the winner, but it should be winner takes all.

 

As we know, second is nowhere!

 

Speaking of prize money, when Cobs reads this... hey Cobs you should suggest a £10 entry/prize fund for the score prediction game, apart from the fact you'd be minted it would maintain interest over the season and boost the whole thing to another level. Get it sorted! How many players in that last season 25, 30? Would make for a nice pot at the end of the season.

so you do a cup draw for a week that runs along side the league games

 

team A v Team B etc

 

whoever gets the most points that week progresses. then draw the semi finals. then the final

Good idea - could help maintain interest and momentum through the season.

 

Maybe leave it a few weeks until the (real) transfer window has closed, do you reckon ? Assuming interest levels will remain high until at least then!

think i did pretty well all things considered. got Kompany for nothing and Mata for £2mil

Balls. Paid loads for two good players no-one else gave a s*** about and spread to thinly losing out on Sturridge and Rooney where I was second. Best bid (not mine) was Ozil for 0.20 (Billy Dane?).

 

Almost afraid to look at what dross is left over.

And there are some quality players left for the second round!

 

I paid £14.2mil for Yaya Toure - doesn't look too bad till you see the only other bid was £0.5mil!

 

But then again, better than £29mil on David Silva when you could have got him for nowt

Don't forget to get your second round of bids in before this evening's deadline - three managers are yet to do so (one of whom desperately needs to get some players in!!)
