Chewie Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Oh, you've gone again right up there with a reserve keeper signing this one!! If we could lend Ilori to Lille we could see they work together on the long ball.. get Alberto in the middle and Aspas out wide and we'd be on to something... what about Southampton.. they could all go there...
whitewidow Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 right up there with a reserve keeper signing this one!! If we could lend Ilori to Lille we could see they work together on the long ball.. get Alberto in the middle and Aspas out wide and we'd be on to something... what about Southampton.. they could all go there...Now that is actually a cracking idea
redjersey Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Divock is such a GREAT name!!Divvy to his mates. Maybe not so great,
Cam Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Divock is such a GREAT name!! Divvy to his mates. Maybe not so great,*insert obvious Macca joke*
Tones Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Looked very good at the world cup. Only 19, delighted with this signing
Cam Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Feed the Div and the Div will... probably slop down his top.
JGL Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Very excited about this guy, looks a terrific prospect. Reminded me of Sturridge quite a bit. Origi, Sterling and Markovic is an incredible group of attacking talent.
Leo No.8 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Brendan really raving about him on the official, says he can be world class several times - clearly a big fan.
johngibo YPC Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Think he needs to develop loadsWhich is why he isn't here. We'll see. Not holding my breath
Hightown Phil Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Gives us time to come up with a dance for this though.
Clay Davis Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Think he needs to develop loadsWhich is why he isn't here. We'll see. Not holding my breathRodgers is overwhelmed with him. Never seen him be so glowing about anyone, and he's often glowing.
Stevie H Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 this must mean we're getting another attacker in. no remy, origi straight out on loan. must be getting someone else decent in.
jonnyc Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Just saw press conference with Brendan in the US. He clearly wanted him now but said that they had to agree to loan him back to agree the deal.
johngibo YPC Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Rodgers is overwhelmed with him. Never seen him be so glowing about anyone, and he's often glowing. Yeah I've seen that. Very promising.I just worry he is one of those young players who people gamble on because they have the attributes to be a top footballer, rather than anything they have shownLike Babel, for instance. I watched him live this summer, before any links, and thought he was the worst footballer I had ever seen
kop205 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Yeah I've seen that. Very promising.I just worry he is one of those young players who people gamble on because they have the attributes to be a top footballer, rather than anything they have shownLike Babel, for instance. I watched him live this summer, before any links, and thought he was the worst footballer I had ever seen On what little I've seen his technique does look a bit, errr, raw, which is a worry. It would make him a very un-Rodgers like buy though so maybe I've just caught the wrong bits. I can remember the first few times I saw Sterling in the Kids teams and what stood out for me was his technique - his ability to change direction with the ball and keep it under control especially. It wasn't that he was just bigger or stronger or faster than the lads he was playing against, he was miles better and that always meant he had a chance of stepping up. Not sure that is screaming out at me about this lad but as I say, have seen very little of him, is just a gut instinct really.
DecidedByPoll Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Yeah I've seen that. Very promising.I just worry he is one of those young players who people gamble on because they have the attributes to be a top footballer, rather than anything they have shownLike Babel, for instance. I watched him live this summer, before any links, and thought he was the worst footballer I had ever seenThink Babel is a really good comparison. There's talent there definitely, but as kop205 says, at times he seems more than just 'raw'.
Tommy Cockles Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 We are Origi men. Gotta post the clip now... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyuS8GcENfQ
