redjersey Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 The ticket sale for official members is on next week. First 11 home games. On Tuesday there's an online sale for members with the required minimum number of games last season on their card. So anyone with that many leagues games last season can go online and is guaranteed a ticket for any Category A and B game. The minimum number was 13 last year, which, not entirely coincidentally, is exactly what I have on my card. Except they've just raised the minimum to 14. Which means I, and more than a few others I'm sure, miss the early sale and have to go into the free-for-all sale later in the week which I know from experience can be a frustrating online-queueing nightmare, with no guarantee of a ticket at the end of it. Worst part is I bought 14 home games last season but thinking 13 would be enough, I got a refund on one game I couldn't get to. Wish I'd just given it to a mate now...

Not fair at all that.

Bizarre how it's as binary as "if you've got 14, you get priority, but 13 is the same as having none". Not fair at all that.Is right. Thing is it took several years of buying tickets for lower Category games or even restricted view seats before I built up enough credit to get into the priority sale. It's a kick in the balls being shoved back to the bottom of the ladder again.
Swan Red Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Downunder should have something to say about this. Seems very harsh.
cocknose Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Been online since 8.15 and still not through, nearly all games sold out now
Swan Red Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 It seems there's stuff here that fans advocates could and should be advocating for
johngibo YPC Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Downunder should have something to say about this. Seems very harsh. To be honest I have no sympathy over just presuming it will be the same as last season. You wouldn't do that on a particular away gameIt seems daft that it jumps straight from 13 to 0 though. But I guess they are just trying to balance out loyalty and not having it become a closed shopIts a tricky one really. We basically need more seats don't we It seems there's stuff here that fans advocates could and should be advocating for Build the Anny Road extension ASAP rather than titting about

I have some sympathy for presuming it'd be the same, I generally think quota's set expectations and that changes in those quota's should be communicated at a time when people can do something about it. Like announce it early enough that people don't end up being returned to 0 from 13.
johngibo YPC Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah to the building. I have some sympathy for presuming it'd be the same, I generally think quota's set expectations and that changes in those quota's should be communicated at a time when people can do something about it. Like announce it early enough that people don't end up being returned to 0 from 13. They aren't plucked from thin air thoughThey will be calculated based on the number of people attending 13 games, 14 games, 15 games etc so they feel there is enough tickets going to those who have been loyal, and enough going on general saleThey probably wouldn't have known those numbers when Red Jersey decided to give a ticket back to the club. What I find intersting, fwiw, is that you can no longer walk up to the ticket office and buy a home ticket for the match. But I guess that is another debate
Swan Red Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah you're right in that there have to be sufficient tickets available and they won't know till the end of season how many people attended 13/14/15. If they are changing the quota they can transition so that those that would have qualified but now don't, especially where they have qualified before and so demonstrated a commitment over more than one season, go into a ballot or something rather than being returned to 0.
Redray Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Been online since 8.15 and still not through, nearly all games sold out now @johnnyprotein The Liverpool members ticket sale consists of sitting in a queue for over an hour until all tickets are sold out. @LFC @LukeEllul I was up at 6.30 and got tickets no problem @johnnyprotein @no1confused @LFC tickets didn't go on sale until 8.15am so how did you manage to get ones at 6.30 @LukeEllul @LFC No I was on the website at 6.30 , waiting in the queue instead of waiting over a hour I waited 2 mins @LukeEllul @heagles_mark Yeah , @LFC need to sort out the sale , it's crazy only way of getting tickets is getting up early

Redray Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I reckon latest I was on was 8.16, still on now, just Leicester left as limited Same Managed to pick up all three Cat C yesterday no problem. If that fella is telling truth about picking up tickets at 6.30am then questions need asking.

If that fella is telling truth about picking up tickets at 6.30am then questions need asking.i think he means he was on the log in screen from 6:30 my mate in work says to go on the log in screen and not type your details in and leave it.... once they start the queuing system you then get added to the queue.... depending on how early you leave your browser on that screen determines how far along the queue you are.. If he left it on that screen at 6:30am then once they went on sale then he would be pretty close to the front of the queue I expect

No tickets for me and the lad first half of the season it seems, thought they were all going on sale today, couple of Cat C's would have done me.

There are advantages to the current system, but there is a major disadvantage too. It's a veritable industry for some people now (including travel agents, I suspect). Link their card to multiple other cards and once they get in in the queue, they can get lots of tickets for all of the games, including games that they know they have no intention of attending themselves. I am in no doubt that there are many many members making a profit out of games they don't go to. Ordinary members who wish to go to (or can only afford to go to) a few games have little or no hope.

Yeah there are Irish lads funding their own trips on the back of making a few extra bob passing on tickets to other fans.

Cheesecake Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I'm not a member so my options are extremely limited, finances and distance dictate that I couldn't get to anything like 13 or 14 games a season anyway, I suppose it might be possible to get tickets for a LC/FAC game at some point during the season. I presume that a general sale for a league game is a non starter unless we are having a monumentally s*** season.
