RP Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Just thought it'd be interesting to look at and keep track of countries eliminated from the World Cup and what happens to their managers subsequently. Surprised that only two have resigned immediately in the aftermath of their country's elimination - Prandelli of Italy and Lamouchi of Ivory Coast. I'm sure there'll be more. Basically I am hoping that all the other managers eliminated in the group stage resign, apart from Roy ... so that he is eventually shamed into falling on his sword. Eventually others will resign despite having qualified for the knock-out stages, but I'm sure Roy won't go , the man has no class, no dignity. But interesting to keep an eye on the picture as it develops.

I'm sure Del Bosque days are numbered too.

I'm sure Del Bosque days are numbered too. I agree - but it's even funnier when it is, say, Ivory Coast who don't have as long and great a footballing heritage as, say, England. Interesting to track them all and then group them. Of the teams eliminated so far, I think we should be comparing Hodgson to Prandelli (resigned) and del Bosque (has said he'll make an announcement next week, I believe).
Hassony Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I can't see Zaccheroni lasting much longer with Japan
realtarragona Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hodgson will never get a job earning as much again after England. They could lose the first five games of qualification for Euro 16 and he'd still be hanging on for dear life.
Hassony Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hodgson will never get a job earning as much again after England. nearly 30 times as much as the Mexican manager gets
Rodgers Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hodgson will never get a job earning as much again after England. They could lose the first five games of qualification for Euro 16 and he'd still be hanging on for dear life. Plus as he said yesterday he gave the fans something to cheer about with the 0-0 draw v Costa Rica so he has no reason to resign.
RP Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 Hodgson will never get a job earning as much again after England. There was only one international manager at the World Cup who earns more than him - I understand he could also look at club management, just saying.
Gilps Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hodgson's never passed up a payoff in his famously long career. Can't see him starting now with £3.5 million a year coming in. No chance of him resigning, it'll have to the FA who are shamed into making the decision if he is to go.
Stevie H Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 lamouchi's never even managed a club before. reckon he'll get a job in france easily enough and pretty soonish.

RP Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 Why not jsut make your hope more direct and hope he resigns Because I want to see him humiliated into it.
Ombudsam Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Because I want to see him humiliated into it. haha. fair enough. he is a s*** c***.
RP Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 I still wish it was him instead of Gary Lewin who was lying on the floor when Studge scored.
Ombudsam Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I still wish it was him instead of Gary Lewin who was lying on the floor when Studge scored. I was convinced he'd had a heart attack I couldn't make it out as I was still celebrating Sterling scoring the goal of the tourny let alone Sturridge's effort
RP Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 Haha. The only reason I was glad it wasn't him lying sparko was that I don't want the c*** becoming some kind of martyr. I rarely feel such hatred and aggression towards a fellow human being - but for Roy Hodgson, I find myself quite readily able to make an exception.

Raj Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I still wish it was him instead of Gary Lewin who was lying on the floor when Studge scored. Haha
surf Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Quiroz has resigned for not getting Iran out of the group stages.
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Del Bosque offered to resign, unlike Hodgson who refused to quit and refused to even say he'd got anything wrong. It was all bad luck.
Davvo Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I can't see Zaccheroni lasting much longer with Japan Less than 24 hours as it happens. They're lining up like Lemmings, with Hodgson at the back pushing them over the edge.
surf Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 obviously iran and honduras are far better teams than england, so failing to qualify with those two really has to lead to a resignationengland on the other hand are such a poor team that it's utopia to expect anything more than a point and the manager did really well to collect it. and they scored 2 goals as well!
growler Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Hodgson will never get a job earning as much again after England. They could lose the first five games of qualification for Euro 16 and he'd still be hanging on for dear life. That's because they could lose the first 5 games and still qualify.
