RP Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 They deserved it ... in as much as the team that finishes top after 38 games always deserves it. But we ran them close, and their squad is the most highly-paid group of sportsmen anywhere in the world. But credit where it's due - they held their nerve and got over the line. Experience of the last couple of years undoubtedly helped, hopefully we'll be stronger for our experiences of this season. They have a decent (in all senses of the word) Manager, they play football with the aim of scoring goals ... it'll be good to go toe to toe with them again next season. I actually feel physically and emotionally drained now - this season has been as close to unbelievable as I can ever recall.
baja the hut Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I agree, fair play we ran out of gas. Pelligrini is a class individual.

Mourinho came 3rd and won nothing. Couldn't beat Rafa.
Barnesy_10 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Mourinho will still make today about him somehow... But yeah.. Fair play to city. I've got a lot of time for the team. Kompany is quality and so is Yaya... At least that team deserves to win it unlike the Mancs last season.
Noel Street Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Mourinho aside, City are every bit as bad as Chelsea
Case Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Pellegrini is a class act as is Kompany, and I've always liked Zabaletta. one of my brothers supports City - he was born in 76, when they won the League Cup (that was a big thing for them then), so pleased for him, too. Bring on next season
RBM Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Congratulations on the finest financial doping ever seen.
Stevie H Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 last day of the season and the two badges on show were city and liverpool. no united, no arsenal, no chelsea. and city's resources dwarf ours. fair play to them and pellegrini is very likeable, but their wage bill can just f*** off. they should have waltzed this.
Cheesecake Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 FFP only applies to European football, you can spend 700 million in the PL if you want, just as long as you are fit and proper!
ajit Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Well played to City.Likeable players and Manager unlike Chelsea.Look forward to pipping them to the title next year with a more level playing field !!
Lark Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Congratulations on the finest financial doping ever seen. Like winning the Tour de France on a dodge tomahawk. Amazing achievement.
Billy Dane Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Well done to City. If any team is going to beat us to the title I'd rather it was them. Good manager and some great players. At the start of the season I would have been delighted with second and running them to the last game, but feeling disappointed now as 3 games out it was in our hands. Onto next season, can't wait.
Bogman Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 If we didn't win it, the only other team I'd like to see win it would have been citeh. So, well bought
Swipe Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Won five in a row when In counted. Fair Play. The bellends.
Farmer's Tan Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Congratulations my a***, over two thirds of a billion spent on that team, they can get f***ed as far as i'm concerned.
Ibby Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Congratulations on the finest financial doping ever seen. This is what f***s me off
allez les rouges Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Congratulations on the finest financial doping ever seen. This
Billy Dane Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I think you need to get over yourselves. There will always be rich teams and poor teams. Before City it was Chelsea, before then it was United and despite our bleating we are hardly paupers either in the overall scheme of things. We came within three points of beating them to the title. If we had eliminated some silly mistakes the title would have been ours.
