Leo No.8 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 So although I only live in the depths of Woollyville in Tarporley, the 11th of May could potentially be the biggest party in history in Liverpool if things were to go well from here, and its probably going to be impossible getting a taxi. So I wanted to get a hotel room in town but there's absolutely nothing available anywhere. Any ideas anyone?
Maldini Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'm looking as well, have one for the Sunday but even the Saturday is booked out. Chester is the closest I can find.

My mum and Dad have just moved to a gaff just outside Tarporley. It's only 45 minutes from Liverpool. Max. You could book yourself a taxi now back home for less than the cost of a hotel room. I think. Then you could go down the Swan on the main road in Tarporley and drunkenly abuse the Man U supporting Cheshire set. Great boozer the Swan.
David Hodgson Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Just stay out all night A tall order if he starts the festivities prior to the 2pm kick off. A nose full of beak might be his best bet though. Again, probably cheaper than a hotel room.

Or just don't sleep.
Leo No.8 Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Just stay out all night This is the answer isn't it, clearly. A tall order if he starts the festivities prior to the 2pm kick off. A nose full of beak might be his best bet though. Again, probably cheaper than a hotel room. And so is this! Thinking on I almost certainly would never make it to the hotel room even if I had one. Thanks YNWA for sorting out my problems so easily! Tarporley is nice DH, the people are a bit snooty but its a lovely part of the world and there are some great pubs. I was staying very close to Tarporley the weekend of the City game. Trying to remember the name of the pub we went to on the Sunday evening - It'll come to me. Edited April 23, 2014 by RP
Hightown Phil Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 If you aren't in Wetherspoons for a pint at 7am then you've done it wrong.
David Hodgson Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 If you aren't in Wetherspoons for a pint at 7am then you've done it wrong. Yep. A pint and their 1700 calorie breakfast of champions. Perfect start to a big football day.

Again, probably cheaper than a hotel room. Or a night in Rude or Xclusive. Probably more expensive than the hotel room but it should be one of those days where booking a taxi is left for the faint hearted.
Gunga Din Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 surely there'll be a lock in somewhere? Rob, invite everyone back to Motel and bolt the door! Also, are we going to have a big YNWA gathering? Back of the Sandon after the game?

And the lock in sounds a brilliant idea!!
matty Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I suspect everyone will be totalled by 11pm. There's gonna be some stories...

aka Dus Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Will stay with my cousin but don't have a ticket and unlikely to get one. Any chance they'll open Goodison to show it on the big screen for the overflow supporters?

schmuckdonald Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) I can't wait to get a title-winning Gutmann handshake. And a title-winning Blundell bumming. EDIT: Also, I have a spare room. And a flat in the city centre. Offer me money. Edited April 23, 2014 by schmuckdonald
David Hodgson Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Yeah was thinking this - surely we've got to have a big YNWA get together? And the lock in sounds a brilliant idea!! This could happen. I'm here to help.
rednotdead Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Have booked on in Runcorn. Don't plan on spending too much time there.
