Kop_on Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) I have a better than 50-50 chance of getting a ticket for the Newcastle game, albeit in the away section. I'm based in Ireland & get over to Anfield once a year on average. The segregation of fans is a little alien to me. I've a few questions: 1.) If a steward sees me in the Newcastle crowd, will I be removed from the stadium, or just the Newcastle section? 2.) Would there be any other penalties for me accruing from doing this? 3.) Just how bad is it? I'm well able to handle myself, but what is the likelihood of it turning nasty? 4.) Is it worth it? Anyone who's done it before, or any stewards, let me know what you think Edited April 16, 2014 by Kop_on
Gunga Din Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 i would imagine that the away end for that game will be full of reds.
Duncan Disorderly Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If you're that worried, give me your ticket.
psl Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I'll wear a Newcastle jersey if I have to. It'll be fine. The away end at Goodison when we were smashing them a few years back was fun.
Chewie Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Me dad n cousin have exact same tickets ...and they have no compunction about it at all. I'm currently trying to persuade either one of them it wouldn't be safe...
smithdown Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Looks like they are throwing a good few up for sale, hard to blame them when people are talking grands.

Maldini Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 If it's the day we all hope it will be I'd say the Newcastle fans would be alright with you. You probably won't be alone in there either.
johngibo YPC Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Just do itWhat are they going to do? Even if you have to sit on your hands for the whole game, you still get to see Gerrard lift the trophy
Jonesy Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I have done this before. It was the year michael owen got a hattrick. You've nothing to worry about.
D.Boon Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Make you wear a Sunderland top that way you'll be wearing the right colours and endear yourself with the Mags fans.
Gethin Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Make you wear a Sunderland top that way you'll be wearing the right colours and endear yourself with the Mags fans. Say it's a mark of respect - half Liverpool colours, half Newcastle. Like a souped up "half 'n half" scarf
Maldini Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Just thinking, if tickets in our end are going for thousands I'd say a lot of Newcastle fans will be hawking their tickets to reds desperate to get in. Could be more Liverpool fans than Newcastle fans in there.
D.Boon Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Ive just put a shout out to a few Geordie mates to see if i can swing something.
Molby Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 will be full of reds but if needs be, just burst in to tears, find a steward and asked to be moved as the Newcastle fans are bullying you they HAVE to help you (finally a use for health and safety)

The cup semi final v Utd . I think we ended up on the telly.

I was sat with my dad and brother we were on the telly next year for the Soton semi at Spurs Edited April 17, 2014 by Molby
Kop_on Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Thanks guys. That was pretty much my attitude - go in, enjoy myself & try not to provoke anyone. If s*** happens, it happens. Just need to hope my brother's brother in law can deliver the goods he says he can.
David Hodgson Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 you and your Andrew no? I was sat with my dad and brother we were on the telly next year for the Soton semi at Spurs Ah yeah, I think you're right. Me and him over celebrated that goal for us (Paul McGrath OG), in the United end. Not smart, in retrospect. The cops, bless 'em, rightly spotted that we were about to be murdered and got us moved.
