With four games left…

Or 5 or 6 depending on who you look at this is shaping up to be the best finish to the league ever.

 

At the top its us – most points, most goals scored and yet we still haven’t qualified for the CL with 4 games left!!!

 

The mancs and spurs are in 6th and 7th – they can’t catch us – yet could still end up in the CL!

 

Southampton in 8th could get into the uefa. As could Newcastle in 9th (I think if the arsenal win the fa cup – can’t be arsed to check that out)

Below Newcastle, stoke have cleared the 40 point mark – nobody else has got that many points – ½ the league is below what is considered the safe cut off point.

 

Sunderland are bottom of the league with 25 points – but have 6 games left – if they go on a winning run they could still get 43 points!

Fulham are 18th – in a relegation place but there 5 teams above them within 6 points..

 

Norwich are on 32 points – above the relegation zone but they have the worst run in of all the teams – they just lost to fulham – a game that had they won may have seen them safe – instead they might need to get points from the last four games – Us at home, Mancs away, Chelsea away and arsenal at home – their hope is that the mancs bottle it and that Chelsea and arsenal have nothing to play for – unlikely given how close the league is.

 

Theres gonna be a lot of nerves jingling in the next few weeks – while we are focused on what we need to do theres a lot of games that have a huge impact on the league yet to be played and most teams still have something to play for. Stoke – who play 3 teams in the bottom 5 – plus spurs – probably have the least to concern themselves with..

 

Its gonna be a fun few weeks.

I looked at in terms of "what have teams got to play for" at this point its quite a lot.

which means that we have a tough run in - but so does everyone else.

 

plus it meant about 10 minutes where I wasn't just obsessed with us!!!

Skippy - UEFA spots are 5th & 6th (as a result of City winning the league cup), and the FA Cup spot will go to Hull if Arsenal win. And then there's the Fair Play league

No. If Arsenal finish 5th and win the FA cup the league gets the Europa (I believe). If they finish in the CL then it goes to Hull if they win the cup.

It would take a lot for them to drop out of 7th to 8th - Southampton are 9 points behind them with four to play, and United have a game in hand. They'll be wanting Arsenal to get 4th in that case hehe

No chance Everton are getting 4th. I wasnt tipping them before they lost to Palace, Arsenal's games are pish.

Newcastle have nothing to play for - and haven't for weeks. Highest they can finish is 7th if they win all their games and Utd lose all theirs, and Arsenal will finish 4th.
