I am just glad Stevie didn't get to miss two games. I would have been more concerned about losing him. Think Allen will have plenty of energy to press and Lucas to close games out if needed.

He will destroy Newcastle on his own he will be so fresh and crazy for it, so Lucas can stroll in and back up the cap'n on his emotional and spiritual journey.

I think Allen can cover just fine - one small concern is whether he can last 90 minutes in that role three games in a row. I'd have Texiera on the bench now as well.

Both Allen and Lucas can do that role in their own way. Allen, Lucas and Henderson are all different styles of the same basic midfielder unit, someone who can do everything competently, without any particular weaknesses, but with each having different degrees of strengths in different areas. It's not like the Alonso days when his loss meant we had to play a completely different style of game to that we were used to. We can alternate between Allen and Lucas, even within the same game, with Sterling and Coutinho also varying their roles depending on what Rodgers wants to emphasise in his tactics.

Allen and Lucas combined is equal to Henderson over 90.... I'd play one and look to bring the other on to replace at some point

Id have taken a Hendo red card if offered that and 3 points before kick off

Just a good job it happened In the dying moments

I'd appeal the card as he stands a small chance of winning. If they deemed it a frivolous appeal and add a game then so what - it's either a case of "it'll be all over anyway" or "it's only Newcastle".

I like Allen and he was great today but he's more of a sub or one-game cover player; I do worry when his place is assured for any length of time.

No point in appealing.... He deserves to see out this season with a start against Newcastle... He looked gutted and rightly so.... He's been f***ing brilliant this season and deserves to end this season on a high rather than walking off after a red card

No intent, going for a loose ball, should've been a yellow, no injury.

Failing that go down the Shearer route and threaten to pull out of the World Cup.
