Wifi issue with phone/Nexus 7

I can't connect with the wifi at my parent's house with either my mobile phone or Nexus 7 and it used to work fine.

 

When I put the password in it just says "saved, protected by WEP" but doesn't connect.

 

Apparently there were some issues with connecting the laptop a while back and a family friend helped out and resolved it and the laptop connects better than ever but I can't work out what they've done that'd disrupt the connection to my phone and Nexus.

 

I am pretty computer illiterate however.
