Liverpool FC most prolific strike partnerships, all goals shown are in the league campaign only.

St John/Hunt: 52 goals in 1963/64 (Shanks first title)

Suarez/Sturridge: 47 goals in 2013/14

Dalglish/Rush: 42 goals in 1982/83 (Paisley last season in charge)

Fowler/Collymore: 42 goals in 1995/96

Aldridge/Beardsley: 41 goals in 1987/88 (Arguably one of the best attacking teams seen in the English game)

Barnes/Rush: 40 goals in 1989/90 (Our last title)

Absolutely PHENOMENAL.

Fowler scored 28 from 38 in 95/96 and he was brilliant

Luis has just equalled that in 25 games

now THAT blows my mind

Here is another: Most league goals scored in a season (Post war)

1963/64: 92 goals

1985/86: 89 goals

1987/88: 87 goals

1978/79: 85 goals

1946/47: 84 goals

2013/14: 82 goals

Currently the sixth best season in terms of goals scored. Which is incredible considering the seasons above were 42 games long and we've scored 82 goals in 30 games. Incredible.

Arsenal are the only team to stop either of them scoring in the league this season when they start the match, staggering. Both start and then 1 of them always gets a goal with the exception of that match

I will tell you what's great, either or both of them streaking away from their marker, ideally set up by the other, and/or burying the chance before heading over to us.

I'll tell you what, it's really fecking therapeutic

We have to be closing in on scoring the most goals ever in a Premier League season by any team don't we?

Chelsea with 103 hold the premier league record. Not inconceivable we could score 22 in our remaining 8 games... of course would settle for 8 x 1-0 wins from here in...

Edit: We've scored 40 goals away from home. That's mad. Surprisingly the Mancs are second (with 30). Chelsea have scored only 23 away (but only conceded 14). We've conceded 24 away. Only Arsenal with their trio of hidings have conceded more out of any team in the top half.

Chelsea got over 100 a few years back I think thats the only time the 100 mark has been broken in the PL era. They beat Wigan 9-0 or something in one of the final games which obviously helped a bit

They handed out a few tonkings that season, much like us - except their tonkings were more 5-0 or 4-0 and ours are more 6-3 and 5-2. Ancelotti's Chelsea was a good side.

I know I could look all this up for accurate figures, but a bit lazy.

If Suarez took penalties instead of SG (as Fowler did), he would have well over 30 goals this season already.

We've had 10 pens in the league - scored 8 missed 2.

If Suarez took those he'd have 38 goals if he scores all 10 or 36 if you make allowance for missing 2.

Think the wireless said yest that the skipper has 8 league penos.

I quite like the old school no penos total Suarez is building. It should be given more credit bybthe breathless stats peddlers.

they had the hump with one another big style tonight

no interest in trying to pass to one another

Yeah some of that was irritating. They will get over it.
