Best night of my life

Well... Just got in from what can only be described as the best night of my life (alongside Istanbul)

 

My youngest son Luke is best mates with Lucas' son at nursery... We got an invite to his 3rd birthday at Jungle Fun in Belle Vale in Childwall.

We show up about 5:10pm and Lucas greets me at the door and I shake his hand and the kids run off and play. Lucas and his gorgeous wife tell me that Pedro (his son) doesn't stop talking about my son... Which is why he was invited.

 

So I go off with my kids to climb and mess about on the slides.... I turn and look at the seating area and there is Luis Suarez stood there getting his coat off... My heart is going mental at this point.... I try and act cool... He's with his wife and babies... I carry on...

Then I see Martin Skrtel.. He's there with his missus and kids. He comes over and introduces himself to me. I'm like.. 'Yeah I know who you are!'

My kids are getting as excited as me at this point.

Then Rafael arrives with his one week old.

Then Zabaleta arrives with Fernandinho

Then Coutinho shows up with his bird..

Then Aspas shows up.

Then Glen Johnson with his gorgeous kids and lady.

Then Luis Alberto arrives... Followed by Suso..

 

They are all having a drink and a laugh... I get my pics taken with Suarez, Glen, Lucas, Skrtel and Coutinho. Coutinho and Aspas invited my two boys in for a bit of football in the football section.. I joined in for a bit of passing and shooting. My youngest dived like a good un and Coutinho picked him up and rubbed his head better!

 

An amazing night. Went down the slide with Suarez... Filmed him and Coutinho going down into ball pool and he wanted to watch it back and jokingly told me not to sell the video haha..

 

Then Suarez signed my match ticket from Old Trafford!

 

Luis chatted about my kids and how they knew Lucas...

Lucas was hobbling and I asked if he was injured again and he said he took a kick in training but will be ok.

 

An amazing night. Lucas took my mobile number so can meet up again soon ;)/>

I'm looking forward to Brazilian bbq's in the summer!

 

Don't think I will sleep tonight! Dream come true

 

Party finished at 10pm

I just thought it would be other kids there and didn't expect players to be honest. Though I thought a 10pm end time for a 3 year olds party was a bit odd!

 

Skrtel was wolfing down the food.

 

They got a caterer in. Cold meats for starters... Sea bass for mains or chicken and chips and then cakes for dessert

Haha Rafael seemed really decent for a manc... Said he literally had 2 hours sleep the night before our match. I said 'was that the excuse for the late tackle on Stevie?'

He gave a smile.

I shook his hand and then said thanks to his hand. Don't think he understood why haha

Quality that Barnesy - love it!

 

Reina, Agger and Benayoun's kids used to go to the same nursery as mine opposite Liverpool Cricket Club a few years back, but I never got beyond a nod and hello when I passed them on the way in or out. You're through the looking glass! Now the key is to keep developing these friendships without crossing the line into stalker territory. It'll be a tough balance to maintain!

Same nursery mate. Cressington Manor.

I saw Reina a few times but didn't want to bother him too much.

My son seems to have struck a great friendship with Pedro though! Played for 5 hours last night and Lucas' wife said Pedro doesn't stop going on about my son.

 

I stayed as calm as possible but was tricky not just making a t** of myself. The grin I had seeing Coutinho playing football with my boys must have been huge!!

Great story Barnesy :applause: Fantastic out of Lucas to invite your kid. Imagine you're going to have to invite his kid to yours soon now :)

 

You better hope we don't get rid of Lucas now :)
