richwilks Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Its suspended at the mo, while they appeal. They might be looked to spend big on younger players this summer and cash in on a few of those around 30.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I'd be happy with Mascherano. He's better than Lucas.
Dan Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) John Chapman @BelgoFoot 15m According to Belgian journo @svenclaes, LIverpool have shown interest in Lille's Divock Origi (19) - just named in Belgium squad. #lfc Jonathan Northcroft @JNorthcroft 6m Divock Origi the surprise name in Belgium squad. 19, striker, raw, has x factor. At Hazard's old club Lille. Liverpool like him. One to watch at the WC perhaps. Edited May 13, 2014 by Dan

D.Boon Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 We're going to be linked with about 1000 players this summer. Going to be one hell of a transfer thread for DH to luxuriate in.

Red Yoda Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 It's brave and obvious that we need another midfielder with mobility and good passing, surely we will be making enquires about Kroos, doesn't he have only one year left on is current deal? He would be a fantastic midfielder to add to our midfield options.
Ed the Wool Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Excellent. You think you're better than me ? DH is comes second to NYR in the transfer luxuriation stakes. But he could up his game, you never know.
Benzo-13 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 What's happened to the Barca transfer ban? They're interested in Javi Martinez as well. I f***ing hate them.
D.Boon Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 You think you're better than me ? At some things yes, at others no. Why d'you ask?
Sion Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 We need a new thread for a new era. This one needs to die so we can finally achieve transfer bliss
surf Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 i don't want mascherano. we'd have to change our very successful system to accommodate a new player, i'd rather keep the system an add players where needed. this is the way we've been lining up if i've been paying proper attention: formation 1, 4-3-3:gerrard is playing as a deep lying playmaker, almost as a third CB, allowing the two centre backs to move wide and the fullbacks to move up.ahead of gerrard it's henderson playing as an all-energy box to box midfielder. then we've had coutinho or allen next to henderson in a playmaking role, linking midfield and attack in front of midfield sterling, suarez and sturridge roam around and change position. usually though sturridge as the focal point and suarez & sterling from wider positions formation 2, 4-1-2-1-2 (the diamond):occasionally we've seen us play more narrowly. gerrard still plays deephenderson & allen/lucas play ahead. henderson still as a box to box midfielder, allen & lucas as traditional midfielderscoutinho or sterling play in the hole behind 2 forwards in neither of these formations do i see where mascherano fits in. we don't have anyone playing next to gerrard, we have 2 midfielders in front of him. masch isn't a box to box midfielder, neither does he offer the creativity needed for the 'coutinho' role. so where's he going to play? i only see mascherano making sense next to gerrard in a 4-2-3-1, but that means a different formation, different role for gerrard and throwing this season's successful system out of the window and starting again. so no. We need a new thread for a new era. This one needs to die so we can finally achieve transfer bliss 539 pages, 0 players signed can we have a "toady's transfer thread" please
David Hodgson Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 At some things yes, at others no. Why d'you ask? It was a rhetorical question.
boohog Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Masch (at least the old one) would be great in our team given that he's quick, awesome stamina and good at last ditch tackles. Him plus a pacy CB and we wouldn't have to s*** ourselves so much when the other team countered.

boohog Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 you mean mash as a CB? Nah, holding mid. Don't think a midget CB would alleviate our issue with crosses
Red Yoda Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Daily Star are suggesting that we are interested in signing William Carvalho, central midfielder.

Would be great to have him back. i don't want mascherano. we'd have to change our very successful system We concede far too many goals. Ridiculous amount. The style still have to change a bit. Masch is great for that though I don't think we will be interested
