Shouldn't this be after the season has finished?

Reds to recognise players and fans at their very-first awards evening

Liverpool FC today announced their very-first awards evening, recognising first team, ladies and academy players as well as fans. The inaugural Players’ Awards Dinner will take place on Tuesday 6 May at the Liverpool ACC Conference Centre

“We are pleased to announce this event today. Our fans, players, staff and partners form part of what we believe is the world’s greatest football family and it seems fitting to hold an event which celebrates the passion behind this great Club” commented Liverpool FC Managing Director, Ian Ayre.

The accolades will include Player of the Year Awards for the first team, ladies and academy, and awards for LFC staff and supporters. A full list of the awards and nominated finalists will be unveiled in the coming weeks with information on how to vote.

“Here at Liverpool we are one-club and we pride ourselves on this mentality. The awards ceremony will bring together all of the Club’s players and highlights the devotion that players, staff and fans have for this very special place.” added the Reds’ Manager, Brendan Rodgers.

As part of the event an auction will be held to raise vital funds for Liverpool FC Foundation, providing a wide range of sport inspired programmes throughout the local community and beyond that help to inspire positive change and build better futures for people of all ages.

More information on special guest presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased fromwww.liverpoolfc.com/playersawards

These kind of events are always before the season ends - as soon as the last game has been played, players will be off to their World Cup squads/the beach.

£375 or £500 a head.

Probably Ian Ayre that.

I wonder if donuts will be the desert?

I am not sure how much these corporate things usually are, but it is pricey.

I imagine the players will be taking a break as soon as the season is over, they won't get another chance with the World Cup on.

Talk of another attempt at touring South Africa for a one-off in Cape Town.

Why the hell did they put all the tall blokes at one end and all the short blokes the other. Looks like they are on an incline. That or Bren is really short

Gerrard:“Luis seems to be cleaning up at the moment, he's won everything, and we are lucky to have such a world-class talent like Luis playing here with us and helping us to great things and be successful,” Gerrard said.

“I have played with some top players over the years at this club, world class players but for me this player is in a league of his own.

“He is out there by a big distance and that is no disrespect to all the players I've played with, there has been some top talent for club and country, but this fella can do the lot, he is different to most footballers.

“He has a heart as big as anyone's and I don't have to mention his talent, you can see it out there and he is a fighter who doesn't give up.

“There is some disappointment looming around but if this fella stays around for a few more years I think there will be some really big nights.”

“You never get too high when you win something and you never get too down when one slips away - literally slips away,” he added.

“We've made huge strides as a team and we will continue to fight all the way to the end.

“There is no doubt to bring Champions League football back is an unbelievable achievement as it is so difficult to achieve.

“We will have to wait and see how the final couple of games pan out but we'll keep our fingers crossed. The plan is to go and beat Newcastle. If it is not to be we keep fighting.

“I stand here really proud of my team-mates and have a huge belief that if this group of players stick together and we can make the right additions in the summer the future is bright for the club.”

These awards sound proper mad

Joss Stone presenting goal of the season!

And who the f*** is Rado Chmiel? I bet he's some c*** with cancer

Joss Stone and her massive Cornish feet.

Just how big are Sinead's feet?

In fact, how big are Joss Stone's feet? I know she is often barefoot, but I didn't realise she had massive feet either.

massive he said enough to put paid to whatever thing he had for her

Ronnie Moran's 80! I know that's logical, but it's still surprised me.

When I was first aware of him, he'd have been younger than I am now.

You'd think there'd be better reasons than her feet to be put off Sinead.

I haven't seen any of this, did Brendan get manager of the year?

There isn't an award for that. It was the Liverpool FC awards.

It'd only make sense at Fulham.

This would have been a few years ago, I think he found the nuts bit appealing.
