Providing electrical power for a small gig.

Right. One of the locals up here has decided to run a mini-festival on some rural land later this year. Funding etc.. has been secured. The main events will take place in a small marquee, capacity of about 400, max.

They need to provide electrical power for the gig(s) and to save money they don't want to hire in contractors with generators etc... (which I would have thought was the way to go?). There is a small farmhouse within reasonable range of the site which has a domestic leccy supply, but only up to 100 Amps max. Obviously, the fusebox etc.. is connected up to supply the house circuits. I know nothing about what typical amps etc.. would draw in terms of power, whether transformers are needed, how cables are protected etc...

I wouldn't know where to start, so how do they provide power to the marquee / safety lighting etc.. etc.. AND have it signed off by the local council as fit for purpose?
