I don't get this Allen love, he did ok and tactically it was sound but pretty obvious. He didn't have anywhere near the impact Sterling Hendo and Suarez did on the game performance wise, just shut off space and steadied the ship (fair play to him, like).

the sub changed the game. we were getting a bit swamped in midfield and being pushed deeper. Allen came on and chased and pressed and harried everything. did a really good job and the outcome is we win and get 3 points

It's the opposite for me. The two goals masked a desperately ordinary performance from Henderson on the ball. Passes sent back to where they came from with no attempt to improve the situation for the receiver. Allen showed what a proper midfielder does when he came on.

That's harsh, I thought Hendo had a very solid game even if it wasn't for the two goals

 

Allen was excellent though when he came on, it was a very good substitution (even though a tad unfair on Sterling)
