Meant to sort out a NAS setup at home last year, but never did. The other day I saw a 2T Iomega EZ Drive for less than half price so bought it and it's useless. Incredibly slow and after I'd put some stuff on it, it became unresponsive so I did a reset and it seems to have bricked itself. Looks like it might have already been bought and returned once, so no real surprise.

Anyway, now thinking about finally getting a decent one. My question is if I buy a 2-bay Synology NAS, do I have to put 2 drives in it from the off or can I start with one and then add another later when I can afford it?

Was gonna stick this in the old NAS thread, but it's locked.
