Dan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Feels like the biggest league game we've had for a few years. Season defining. Worst case scenario is same team as today with Flanagan in for Kelly and obviously Mignolet for Jones. Desperately need Allen & Sakho back. A win is massive. Think we'll drop points though.
Zoob Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Looks like Everton have a few injury problems too (Barkley, Coleman, Oviedo, Deulofeu, Pienaar all out+ a couple doubtful too according to Barrett) so could be interesting line ups on both side. Unfortunately looks like Gibson is injured for them so no chance of him playing. Like the Spurs game - just so pivotal in terms of momentum and points difference. Could open up a gap between us and the teams below, or end starting our next game down in 6th place. Flannagan at left back Could do with him at left back and right back.
DJS Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Obviously we know this, but it's a massive game. Spurs play City the following night, with a fair chance they'll get beat. A win in the derby will put us in a very strong position. Dont care how we play, just win by hook or by crook.
DJS Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) McCarthy and Barry. Against who exactly. Gerrard and Henderson, i'd have thought? If fit, i'd be tempted to stick Sakho in with them as a DM. Edited January 25, 2014 by DJS
cocknose Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Isn't Enrique back for this? Mignolet Flan skirtel sahko Enrique Gerrard Allen Henderson Sterling Sturridge Suarez
RedMersey Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Enrique won't be back for another couple of weeks. We can only hope Sakho and Allen are back for this. Sakho is needed to cope with Lukaku/Traore, Allen to push Stevie further forward. Expect Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Flanagan, Allen, Gerrard, Hendo, Coutinho, Sturridge Suarez.

Zoob Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Is Coleman definitely out? He has a hamstring problem, so I guess he could play - but would presumably be a pretty big risk.
JonShar Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 He has a hamstring problem, so I guess he could play - but would presumably be a pretty big risk. Cheers. Only reason I ask is that he's in my fantasy team.

magneto Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I'd personally stick with Flanagan at right back. I think Moses did well to prevent Cissokho going further up the flank forcing the Frenchman to focus on defending.
RP Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Feels like the biggest league game we've had for a few years. Season defining. That's been said by quite a few people before every game recently. A win is massive. Think we'll drop points though. So has that.
