David Hodgson Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Coutinho makes way for Sturridge. That's probably about it. Then we can marvel at our bench a little : Coutinho, Sahko, Allen
Tommy Cockles Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 You haven't hung around with this have you, Stoke are barely cold in the ground.
Jonesy Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 You haven't hung around with this have you, Stoke are barely cold in the ground. There's no point waiting for the bread to curl on the left over sarnies at the wake. Onwards and upwards.
Conrad Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 when are Enrique, Sahko, Agger and Allen due back? I'd have all 4 straight in.
Jonesy Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 when are Enrique, Sahko, Agger and Allen due back? I'd have all 4 straight in. I'd have Flanagan over Enrique.
Stevie H Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Sakho surely starts.christ yes he does. and i'd be inclined to start toure with him really.
David Hodgson Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 christ yes he does. and i'd be inclined to start toure with him really. Agreed. Thought Toure was excellent yesterday.
Case Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Rodgers won't drop Skrtel. Sakho-Skrtel is ok. Dropping Phil for a couple of weeks would be no bad thing, but I have a feeling he might leave Danny on the bench.
Stevie H Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Agreed. Thought Toure was excellent yesterday.showed leadership and responsibility i thought. and doesn't try and get his opponent half-naked when he's supposed to be defending corners and free-kicks.
schmuckdonald Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Sturridge for Coutinho and play Lucas and Gerrard as a partnership. Please for the love of God don't make Gerrard by the pivot again. First choice defence is: Johnson Toure Sakho Flanagan. Mad. Edited January 13, 2014 by schmuckdonald
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Johnson is lucky he has no competition. He is doing his best to play himself out of the World Cup squad
Boca Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Johnson is lucky he has no competition. He is doing his best to play himself out of the World Cup squad Makes you wonder what's going on with Kelly. It must be down to fitness because a fully fit Kelly would surely be a better option than Johnson at the moment.
RP Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 showed leadership and responsibility i thought. and doesn't try and get his opponent half-naked when he's supposed to be defending corners and free-kicks. Best description yet.
Case Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Maybe that's his problem. Hodgson seems to prefer Walker as his first choice RB, which, poor as Glen has been recently, is just crazy.
Hassony Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Agreed. Thought Toure was excellent yesterday. seriously?
sean Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Agreed. Thought Toure was excellent yesterday. Very poor for their first. He was ok, I suppose.
Sion Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Thought Toure was at least partially responsible for Stoke's first and third. He wasn't very good
David Hodgson Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Very poor for their first. He was ok, I suppose. Yeah, he wasn't great on that but Crouch is clever and its a great goal from his point of view. Generally though I thought Toure was strong. We normally get murdered in the air there and from set pieces, but that wasn't the case yesterday.
5InIstanbul Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Wy do we have to play catch up again? f*** off football.
Hassony Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Thought Toure was at least partially responsible for Stoke's first and third. He wasn't very good got beaten easily in the air when crouch hit the woodwork late on
fred Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 got beaten easily in the air when crouch hit the woodwork late on Probably because Skrtel mistook him for an opponent and had hold of his shirt.
Dan Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Wy do we have to play catch up again? f*** off football. We don't really. Mancs, Spurs, Everton & Chelsea all play Sunday/Monday.
The_Adder Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Srktel is deffo a weak link and has been for the past few months, been getting away with it to a degree. Sakho has to come straight back in,he's our best centre back and I'd play Toure with him. Sterling deserves to keep his place, amazingly ahead of Coutinho. I think our best 11 against the weaker lot: Mignolet Johnson (just) - Toure - Sakho - Flanagan Allen - Henderson Coutinho - Gerrard Sturridge - Suarez For balance. Sterling impact sub for me, but cant deny his current form and he deffo deserves to keep his place. Edited January 13, 2014 by The_Adder
Hassony Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Probably because Skrtel mistook him for an opponent and had hold of his shirt. maybe Toure would've stopped Crouch from scoring and hitting the post of he had hold of his shirt
