Visiting New York

So in may me and the gf are thinking of our first visit to new york in may for a week

 

Has anybody and good advice regarding cost, places to visit bar the absolute obvious etc plus do's and don't etc?! Where to stay also..,

 

Any early advice would be cool :)/>
