Molby Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 is anyone going down, FROM LIVERPOOL or NEARBY, for the big game? I reckon we could win, if Suarez plays
Cam Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Lost the City game because this thread was started before kick-off. Molby owes us all £££.
épieur Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 We play to the level we played today, we'll win it. Mourinho will be doing all he can to drain joy from the game though.
Stevie H Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Be inclined to think about Agger at left back for this one. And possibly send Johnson to a hypnotherapist.
Redray Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Johnson seems to be really flagging. But worried about both fullbacks for this one. Maureen will have done his homework. Expecting a lot of high balls into the box. Oh and they will get a penalty.
Swipe Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Interested to see what BR does for this one. Particularly the defence. Think we know what Mourinho's gameplan will be.
Stevie H Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 They'll do their utmost to get Suarez sent off, taking it in turns kicking him and sharing the cards around. In fact do we know who the ref is yet?
D.Boon Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Expect Suarez to have the s*** kicked out of him all game and Terry, Ivanovich and Cahill to be lining up to be marked by Skrtel.
Hassony Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 They'll do their utmost to get Suarez sent offThey'll be wasting thier time
Swipe Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Yeah they'll defo target him. They don't worry me like City did though. We look the real deal, glaring holes aside.
Dan Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Lampard and Mikel in the middle for them then? Should be winning that battle.
surf Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 will people please put the KO time in the subtitle to these things
forde Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Lampard and Mikel in the middle for them then? Should be winning that battle. I think he will do what Rafa did last season and play Luiz in midfield, to keep an eye on Suarez.
Nebraska Red Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 They'll do their utmost to get Suarez sent off, taking it in turns kicking him and sharing the cards around. In fact do we know who the ref is yet? Knowing the FA it will be some c*** from SE London.
Cam Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 will people please put the KO time in the subtitle to these things4pm. Toure & Agger at fullback. Skrtel to play in a straitjacket. Any truth in Chelsea asking the FA to change the rules so Moses can play against them?
kop205 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 These are f***ing s**** and we are going to batter them, the c****.
Case Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Mourinho has them playing pragmatically, and will do for the rest of this season. He's no mug. They'll definitely target Skrtel with their big lads, they'll surround the ref on everything. I'd keep the same team, play a high press, stick Allen on Hazard at (almost) all times. Keep Sterling and Coutinho on the chalk out wide. sterling will have the beating of Azpilucueta and CoutinhoCan tear Ivanovic. Space for Hendo and Suarez. It'll be hard. But we now look towards these games with something more than blind hope. That in itself is progress.
muleskinner Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Suarez v Ivanovic should be interesting, we should beat them though.
Beardsley Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 One positive from this game is that we wouldn't see Moses "playing" (or rather, jogging and not breaking a sweat).
rednotdead Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Ramires out apparently. Should be able to run and pass around Lumpard and Mikel. Also hope Cahill and Terry are their centre back pairing and we'll win 13-1.
Stanley Leisure Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I take great heart from today's performance, we played the arguably the best side in the league and ran them very close, we just need to keep doing what we're doing (apart from at set pieces). A little luck would help too, given how f*cking spawny Chelsea have been at times this season.

Chelsea very good at set pieces too: Southampton (h)Everton (a)Newcastle (a)Man United in the cup (a)Man City (a) Set pieces have cost us this season, never mind those we've conceded from and won.

It's bananas isn't it? Just flappage everywhere you look .

A little luck would help too, given how f*cking spawny Chelsea have been at times this season. What's really annoying is that the way we played against City, we gave them a game unlike any of the other top teams (who conceded 4-6 goals each), but we still ended up leaving with the same amount of points as Arsenal, the Mancs, Spurs etc. If we play at the same sort of level against Chelsea, I'm confident of a win, but given our inability to rotate our squad, I wonder if we'll be able to play at the same high intensity again just 3 days later. And of course we need to learn how to defend set pieces. In terms of line ups, and compared to City, there's far fewer players to fear in the Chelsea team these days, and it would be extra sweet if we were the ones to smash Mourinho's home record...
