Swan Red Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 beating them three nil at their place was f***ing boss even if I did get a smack to the back of the head on the way out the ground. They're a good team and we have the best player in the world
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 This s*** about who starts the thread is annoying.

Gunga Din Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 everyones been getting a caning off of these. any point here is a good point. And if Suarez has a 9 or a 10 out of 10 game, we will win
Drexl Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 9 out of 10 for Luis is merely a hat-trick, isn't it.
smithdown Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Juve away style tactics will do me, except with Suarez instead of Baros.
David Hodgson Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) This s*** about who starts the thread is annoying. Wouldn't be saying that if you'd started one, and thereby been single handedly responsible for a glorious 5-0 win at Spurs. But yes, ultimately, you're right. honourablegeorge Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 They are without Aguero, and Adel f***ing Taraabt looked good against them
Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Last year they were missing Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany. This year its Aguero & Zabaleta. I think we go out and play our own game and have a go at their back line with Demichelis, Kolorov and possibly Boyata at right back. With Dzeko & Negredo upfront, I wonder if they will start Navas to try get some width and crosses, but they didnt against Fulham and went narrow with Silva & Nasri starting. Expect Negredo to be the one to start 10 yards deeper than Dzeko and show for the ball to link up with Nasri & Silva.
John am Rhein Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 We have to play these at some point so Boxing Day's probably the best day on which to do it. Apparently we'll be training on the 25th. Anyone know if City will?
jimbolala Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Everyone is expecting us to get tanked, which is fair enough. I think it will be wide open like the City/Arsenal game, the difference being that we have the better striker! If we go at them I can see a win
Red2Core Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Sod this timid s****,Champions Elect Fear No One.

If Sterling and Suarez can both isolate Kolorov at the same time, we should be in.
Stevie H Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Dimichelis plays on the left of the pair, so getting sterling and Suarez at him and kolarov is our way in. Particularly given nasri's liking for helping his fullback out.
Ripley Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I'll settle for anything less than a 5-0 defeat. This is the game where we regret not selling Skrtel to them, isn't it?

I wonder if Milner would be considered there. On the formation they could easily go with that but at home I expect Dzeko and Negredo to start. If Navas doesn't start on the right and with Zabaleta out, the width would come from Kolorov down the left. If it does it will leave gaps down the side of Demichelis. Sterling could get space down that side with Silva infield and Kolorov likely playing as a winger. I'm confident of a performance and us ending their 100% home record.

Earl Hafler Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) Hope Johnson is awake for this one, Navas doesn't need asking twice to take a run at people. If Sterling and Suarez can both isolate Kolorov at the same time, we should be in. Kolarov's probably the best left back in the league but they're vulnerable down that flank if Dimichelis retains his place. For that reason i'd have Henderson right side behind Suarez. Both quick, work well together and Henderson can help cover the out-of-form Johnson. I know Sterling seems to play better that side but Henderson's much better defensively. Kompany will be even more aware of this against us than he was against Fulham where he came across to cover the gaps and maybe leaves their right side open for Sterling to nip in. Quick, incisive breaks in behind that City left. Edited December 24, 2013 by Earl Hafler
