kop205 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Um. Can't even spell his name right. Help Mods please. It is what he would have wanted.
Redray Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 "Both of the Villa scorers - Withe and Mortimer - were born in Liverpool as was the Villa manager Ron Saunders who was born in Birkenhead."
Tommy Cockles Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 It is what he would have wanted. "1-0" was his trademark. So many favourites but if pushed I'd go with the follow on from "1-0" in the 1974 FA Cup Final: "Goals pay the rent and Keegan does his share". I'm still not entirely sure what that means, even today.
NeilJ Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Keegan 2 Heighway 1, Liverpool 3 Newcastle none There's a great clip where Coleman loses it at his producer, can't find it now
Tommy Cockles Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 It means Keegan scores a share of the goals. Are you the author of @boringmilner Matty?
smithdown Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Shift, no? Isn't it 'goals pay the rent and Keegan does his shift'?
heighway Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I think it is 'share'. The one that makes me laugh is after the third goal when he says "And Newcastle were undressed. They were absolutely stripped naked." Would probably be considered a tad un-PC today!
matty Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Are you the author of @boringmilner Matty? ;)/>Getting engaged has addled your brain.
Flight Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 "He is one of the great unknown champions because very little is known about him." "If that had gone in, it would have been a goal." "We estimate, and this isn't an estimation, that Greta Waltz is 80 seconds behind." "He is accelerating all the time. The last lap was run in 64 seconds and the one before in 62." "And the line-up for the final of the women's 400 metres hurdles includes three Russians, two East Germans, a Pole, a Swede and a Frenchman." "The front wheel crosses the finish line, closely followed by the back wheel." "The Republic of China: back in the Olympic Games for the first time." "That's the fastest time ever run, but it's not as fast as the world record." "Forest have now lost six matches without winning." "There is a fine line between serendipity and stalking." "This evening is a very different evening from the morning we had this morning." "He's seven seconds ahead and that's a good question." "I think there is no doubt, she'll probably qualify for the final." http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/dec/21/david-coleman-s-best-colemanballs
Tommy Cockles Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Getting engaged has addled your brain. :)/> I think it may have happened before that to be fair.
John am Rhein Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Shift, no? Isn't it 'goals pay the rent and Keegan does his shift'? begins with sh, ends with t
