New York Red Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I've never done this before but I'm claiming this one Oh man we are on a roll!!!!!! Kick the hell out of these tw*ts from Cardiff. Three more points in the bag please boys. Play them off the park.
Cam Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 DH should have started this. You've doomed us - 5-0 to Cardiff
New York Red Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Not sure if I should be mockering here. Weird for me to see us playing Cardiff but I really hope we destroy them. We could be in first this time next week.
John am Rhein Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Keep it tight and we should be able to secure a point in this one
Cunny Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 hammer theseChelsea take points of Arsenaltop at Christmaswhich would be nice
Stevie H Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 anyone make any kind of a case at all for the same XI not starting?
Widnesian Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 anyone make any kind of a case at all for the same XI not starting?Kelly for Johnson.
surf Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 anyone make any kind of a case at all for the same XI not starting? still have doubts about skrtel (lucky not to give away a penalty) but there's no way we should change a winning team
fellafeen Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) There has to be changes - to play at the intensity required for Thurs/Sun next week in those two big aways, players with any sort of knock need to sit out Saturday. You have to say we've been lucky with the scheduling of our games, ie kick off times/dates Edited December 16, 2013 by fellafeen
Knox_Harrington Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 anyone make any kind of a case at all for the same XI not starting?Rest Lucas for Alberto because we'll want him in the two games that follow.
Stevie H Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Kelly for Johnson.possibly. i'd prefer someone gave johnson a slap round the puss and reminded him he's a senior player here so to buck his ideas up. that midfield three worked its balls off yesterday. got six days rest until cardiff and not a lot of options really so they're all going to have to start again. Rest Lucas for Alberto because we'll want him in the two games that follow.yeah may have to do that eh? lucas looked dead on his feet by the time he went off yesterday.
honourablegeorge Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Rest Lucas for Alberto because we'll want him in the two games that follow. Cardiff have a tough midfield, have taken a few scalps, I don't think you can see them as an opportunity to rest players.
Earl Hafler Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Cardiff have a tough midfield, have taken a few scalps, I don't think you can see them as an opportunity to rest players. Makes sense to rest one of the three though. Hectic over Christmas and New Year and we've seen with Gerrard what can happen if players aren't rested occasionally.

Knox_Harrington Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Cardiff have a tough midfield, have taken a few scalps, I don't think you can see them as an opportunity to rest players.I don't think you can look at the four games in eleven days and think we can just barrel through with the same lads every week. You are going to have to make a couple of changes somewhere and use the bench.

RP Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I'd like to see Alberto given a start. I'd also give Skrtel a "rest" (until the transfer window opens, let's preserve his value) ... but Brendan will obviously use the data on how they recover. If that same eleven are fighting fit come midweek, then I'd have no real qualms about them starting again. If we could put some pressure on Glen as well, to try and get him back on track, that'd be welcome!
Earl Hafler Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 F*cking give over, will you?? You claimed i was nuts for wanting Gerrard rested for certain games. We've just battered Spurs without him, possibly the best team performance in a few seasons. It's not ridiculous to think that Gerrard's injury is due to starting too many games at the age of 33.

You are going to have to make a couple of changes somewhere and use the bench. cardiff is a big 3 points, arguably more important than the next two, because we HAVE to get 3 points here. 3 points at City or Chelsea is a bonus. Play strongest XI against them, which means same XI as yesterday at the moment. Bring Lucas off after 60 if we are winning.

Stevie H Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 can we not just sign gary medel before saturday?
