After beating Man U away, unfortunate to only draw away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and outplaying Arsenal for 1-1 draw at home!

What do they expect? Football has gone mad!

Agree it looks mad after some of the results against big clubs they've had but they're only 2 points outside the relegation zone - i hadnt realised that.

Only 4 wins in their last 25, only 7 wins this calendar year and 2 points off the bottom three.

Perhaps not that insane a decision.

It's almost as congested at the bottom as it is the top - 6 points between 10th and 19th, so a couple of wins could change things very quickly. I don't know how much money Clarke had to spend, but losing out on Lukaku obviously hurt them a lot.

Ok, I'll have to play my joker now....

Hodgson had a higher win percentage as WBA manager than Clarke.

I rest my case :bleh:

Whoever thought Anichebe at over £6 million could replace what Lukaku brought to them last season deserves the sack, wherever that was Clarke, the head scout or the Director of Football there, who knows?

:o Holy crap. I thought he was just there on loan (and a crap loan at that). £6 million is completely insane for a 25 year old striker with under 20 first team goals.

Pat Nevin was on the radio last night saying that he was speaking with Steve Clarke a while ago about the Lukaku situation.

Clarke thought he has a good understanding with Chelsea and that Lukaku would remain on loan at WBA for another season however, that changed late in the window - whilst he didnt say it, it was suggestive of buying without much planning in order to fill a void.

I wonder if he'd come back to us, now Kenny is back too. Guess it would depend on his desire to manage again. Seems like the sort of bloke that will have got a taste for it.

Very harsh and short term decision by West Brom.
