Yep took me to task for saying that hazing was bullying after an incident where a kid died.

I think the stuff like this just demonstrates how easily people cross lines.

kin hell. wouldn't have expected that from him.. been on a few lash ups with him - including a couple of weekend piss ups in montreal. thought I knew him pretty well. seemed sound.

mind you he dropped off the face of the earth a couple of years ago - no idea where he even is now.

anyway - this could unleash a whole bunch of claims about the culture at football clubs.

and rightly so.

Something seriously Freudian in that a lot of this macho hazing/initiation stuff focuses on shoving things up men's bottoms.

I would batter the f*** out of someone who thought that was fun and done it to me . One at a time, element of surprise and a big stick.

Yep. If i was this player i would be out now to inflict some serious pain and embarrassment on anyone involved in that.

its savile-esque stuff, used to hear stories of lads starting work in the 80's ( and earlier) getting this sort of thing happening to them. could be a barrage of cases following in its wake.

I wouldn't have waited that long to inflict pain. In the 80's I went to a school where I basically didn't know anyone and they were all well off and they had all been to prep school together. Well apparently ganging up on people and lifting them into the air via a wedgy ( imagine it) was a thing they done. They did it to a guy beside me and told me I was next. I explained in as many curse words as possible that this wasn't going to happen. Eventually it took a hockey stick, some Oxford shoes and a lot I bravado to make them think again. Sick f*** think of that kind of behaviour

I wonder are players who were responsible for participating in, or standing idly by while witnessing, this behaviour in the 70s and 80s now sitting on FA panels dishing out large suspensions & fines to today's players for far less offences ? Or worse still, sitting in highly paid PFA positions.
