Absolutely massive game for us this one. These are the kind of away games we need to be going all out for to take home three points. Win this and we have two very winnable home games against Norwich and West Ham coming up. If we can take 9 points from the next three games we'll be in a great place before going to Spurs away. Looking at the rivals next three fixtures it's:

  • Arsenal: Cardiff (A), Hull (H), Everton (H)
  • Chelsea: Soton (H), Sunderland (A), Stoke (A)
  • Man City: Swansea (H), WBA (A), Soton (A),
  • Man Utd: Spurs (A), Everton (H), Newcastle (H)
  • Spurs: Utd (H), Fulham (A), Sunderland (A)

Arsenal look about as likely as we are to pick up 9 points but aside from them, I see all our other competitors dropping points. A good chance to build a nice little buffer at the top two before a difficult December.

Hull's best result in the prem has been a surprise away win against Newcastle. Other than that, they've been a predictable promoted side taking their points against lesser sides and folding when things got tough on them. Come out guns blazing and we should take our 3 points confidently.

Chelsea will fancy themselves, but the real opportunity for us is to put daylight between ourselves and Spurs & United. Our chances of getting 4th are contingent on us seeing off 2 of the big guns. Getting to new year with a lead on these two would really help.

I'm expecting 16 points from the next 7games. Puts us on 40 which would have been 2nd place at a similar time last year.

4-3-1-2 against Hull. Shut them up early and just grind them into the ground.

i may even put my "united to lose every game ever" mentality aside for a week and root for a draw

This can be rationalised according to the dictum that Moyes must not do too poorly to begin with lest he back sacked too soon a la Roy.

Subs: Jones, Kolo, Allen, Flannagan, Moses, Alberto, Sterling
