At the moment I'm just plugging my laptop in directly using the HDMI cable, which works OK but I'd like to do something more elegant long-term.

This will involve setting up a media server (probably using an old desktop PC that's just sitting around), with attached high-capacity storage to push stuff to devices including Android tablets, a mac desktop, PC laptop, Sonos and a streamer/HTPC plugged into the telly.

I would really like to use a Raspberry Pi as the device attached to the telly, as anyone done this? There seems to be quite a bit of info out there so it shouldn't be too difficult.
