matty Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'd go 4-3-1-2 here. Probably. Coutinho in the hole. Everton will attack us, far more aggression than Moyes's team usually managed. Martinez will be under pressure to beat us because they so rarely got anything from us and we need to use that to our advantage. Draw their fire and then hit them with the old right hook. What say you?
Nerik Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Same line-up as vs Fulham with Enrique in place of Cissokho being the only change.
Maldini Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Haven't seen them at all this season. Is there much of a difference in their style of play from last year? Any news on Sakho? I'd prefer him in there against Lukaku rather than Skrtel and Agger
Stevie H Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Haven't seen them at all this season. Is there much of a difference in their style of play from last year? Any news on Sakho? I'd prefer him in there against Lukaku rather than Skrtel and AggerSeen them a few, they're playing much more football than under Moyes and Barry with Barkley makes them a different proposition in midfield. Lukaku's the best striker they've had in years too. That said, think starting a match thread before the internationals where Lukaku gets injured is just downright irresponsible. And rude too, not waiting for Rory.
Cobs Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) we took Martinez' Wigan to f'kin cleaners last season- makes me wonder whether he'll try and take us on footballing-wise or goes a bit more dogsofwar it'd be a massive win for us with the games coming up Edited November 12, 2013 by Cobs

And rude too, not waiting for Rory. They play a lot of square stuff in their own half, hence their huge numbers for possession, but I know the everton fans en masse are somewhat perplexed at their inactivity in the oppo's half. Keep Lukaku quiet and we should be ok here. If they try and play Jordan Henderson will hound the life from them and we will win in a canter. Too much? Edited November 12, 2013 by sean
Ed the Wool Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 we took Martinez' Wigan to f'kin cleaners last season- makes me wonder whether he'll try and take us on footballing-wise or goes a bit more dogsofwar it'd be a massive win for us with the games coming up If he takes us on, we'll batter them I think. I think he'll be dead cagey. Interesting to wonder what Brendan will do though. If Neil is right and he ses certain games as 'points bonus', I wonder where this one goes. I'd say it's a must win, but they've been consistently up there the last few years.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Same line-up as vs Fulham with Enrique in place of Cissokho being the only change. Yeah, I'd go with that as well. But as Stevie says, doing predictions and team selections before internationals could be futile if players get injured so its a case of hoping ours come back with no knocks.
johngibo YPC Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Don't want to think about it yetGet too nervy
épieur Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 People were getting all psyched about Arsenal, but that was never a defining game. This is - a chance to pick up points where you'd imagine other teams will fail Away games against non-top-six teams in the upper half is the stage we're looking to transition to from our excellent flat track bully record so far. Nail that and we're cruising towards a title challenge.
fred milne Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Same line-up as vs Fulham with Enrique in place of Cissokho being the only change.Sound about right.
dorgie Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 A bit pointless picking a team for this with 2 international games between now and then. Hopefully they'll all come back fit.
Cobs Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 A bit pointless picking a team for this with 2 international games between now and then. Johnson got injured on the day of the Arsenal game, c'est la vie, Brian.

I have no idea what Matty was thinking.
